Safari extensions under Catalina

Have any other users of Catalina managed to switch on Safari extensions? If so, what did you do?

Since moving to Catalina, my Safari extensions are there but I cannot click the checkbox, it remains blank, HELP! My extensions are there but when clicking on them the box does not check. Help Lee
