does anyone know how to find out what is wrong with a imac serial number w8******pp8 no Physical damage but won't turn on

Define "old".

Best case, take it to an authorized Apple service center. The repair would most likely exceed the value of the iMac.

So when you press the power button, there is no activity whatsoever? Assuming the power receptacle it's plugged into is working, and the power cable is fine, it could be the power supply has failed.
