Apple TV not longer has volume controls - Apple Community
I have the same issue as the thread above, my Apple TV (Latest gen 4K) lost volume control both from my iPhone and the remot I have already attempted the If your Apple TV remote isn't working - Apple Support suggestions as well.
This happened randomly and the only way I can currently change the volume is through my Homepods paired in stereo or via siri.

Solved:
Turned power off of TV, Apple TV, HomePods overnight.
When powering everything on again, volume controls were back. I think being off for an extended time did the trick as previously just restarting the Apple TV didn’t work.
