iPod cannot be found

I was having problems with some cd's in my library not syncing to my ipod touch. I tried un-syncing my entire music library to my ipod, then when I went to re-sync my entire library to my ipod, now Music app cannot find my ipod. "The iPod cannot be synced because it cannot be found". It is listed on my Mac and I am connected to it.
