Rename folders in iPhone notes

I’m trying to change the name of a folder in Notes. iOS 15. But the ones I want to change are GREYED OUT. Any clues why or how to get around this?

Try this -> Tap in the Folder you want to rename and the | ‘cursor’ appears.

You can now rename the folder.
