how do I change my email address to a secure environment. someone has hacked my email account. changed my password a couple days ago, but friends are receiving scamming emails this morning. I need to close my old email account and need to know how to set up a new one.

Ask your email provider.
My email has been hacked; called AOL. Have to wait until tomorrow to have technician call me. Save for posting a notice on FB, I don't not know what else to do.
This has nothing to do with Apple. You'll have to work it out with AOL.
