Can I upgrade my Macbook to allow for a newer version of Numbers?

There is a dedicated Numbers for Mac community.


Currently, your Mac must be running macOS Big Sur or Monterey to install the current (v11.2) version of Numbers. That would be a simple download from the Mac App Store.


Otherwise, if you previously installed Numbers v3 or later using the same Apple ID, then you can get to the Purchased panel in the Mac App Store and select the Update button adjacent to Numbers. That will produce a dialog telling you that you need a newer version of macOS. Acknowledge that dialog without clicking Cancel. Then, you may receive a second dialog offering to install the last compatible version of Numbers for your current operating system. Allow that if it appears.
