When I'm in Facebook, my "e" key doesn't work as typed, but rather pulls up emoji box. This is a new Mac and I didn't have the issue on the old Mac. Not sure if other keys do something similar yet....
Please reset the SMC 2-4 times in succession with all wired external peripherals (printers, scanners, cameras etc.) disconnected and then retest.

Please restart the computer in Safe Mode per the directions in the How to use safe mode on your Mac - Apple Supportlink.
Note: If you are using a wireless keyboard please either plug it in using the supplied Lightning cable that shipped with it. If you are using a legacy keyboard or a third-party keyboard that does not have re-charging abilities, please use any USB keyboard. Also note that a Safe Mode restart may require you to hold down the shift key for up to 5 minutes before the computer starts in Safe Mode. You will know it is in Safe Mode when you see “Safe Mode” in the upper right of the display.
After restarting in Safe Mode, then restart normally and test.
Is Facebook the only place where this happens? If so, have you asked their support?

Is it an M1 based Mac or Intel?

What keyboard are you using? If it is a new Magic Keyboard did you get the one for Silicon Macs by mistake?
I have the wireless Apple Magic Keyboard with numeric keypad.
So why have you not reset the SMC 2-4 times yet?? The instructions are in the link provided in my first post to you.
