Unable to Login After Update

Recently updated my MacBook Air (with M1 chip) from macOS 12.1 to macOS 12.2.1 and I am no longer able to login. It appears to load normally, gets to the login screen with the user profiles. I am able to input passwords and the password appears to be accepted. Then it goes to a black screen for about 4 to 5 seconds and then back to the login screen. Same issue if I try to sign into the admin account as well. I have tried to open it in safe mode as well. Still the same result. Any ideas?
