parental controls on iPhone not working on Snapchat and Instagram

The parental controls set on the iPhone are not working at limiting the time limit set on Snapchat and Instagram. All the other apps grey out once usage has been reached but these two apps are still available and able to be used. I have tried resetting the controls and changing the setting but still can't get the Snapchat/Instagram to limit even when setting individual app limits. Any Ideas please? Thanks in advance.

Hello kikofeuntes,

Apple Support Communities is a great place for help with parental controls. From the description, it sounds as though you’ve verified Content & Privacy Restrictions and App Limits have been enabled for those applications as outlined in the following article, but they remain accessible.

Use parental controls on your child’s iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch

To confirm, when going in to Settings > Screen Time > App Limits, and Content & Privacy Restrictions. Are the settings you previously set still shown? For example, the limits you set for those apps, do they still appear as they previously were or do they show as having been reset or returned to the default setting?

Also, if you haven't restarted your iPhone and/or verified you're running the latest iOS, you'll want to try those steps next. Those steps can be found in the articles linked below, and may be helpful in resolving this issue.

Restart your iPhone

Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
