How do I package the Mac I'm trading in?

I received a trade-in kit by mail however the box is much bigger than the Mac. I am not sure how to package it properly and safely?

MacBook Air 13″, macOS 11.5

I just initiated another trade-in and there are no packing instructions in the return box. The i-Mac doesn't fit. There is no padding. No instructions regarding peripheral returns. The trade in box should have arrived with a return address label as well as packing instructions.
