My front camera is black in everything

I have a iPhone 13 and recently my front camera will not work. I open my camera app face it to the front and it is just black. I try instagram and it doesn’t even let me switch to the front camera. I have not dropped it and I just got it about a month ago is there anything I can do?

iPhone 13, iOS 15

Troubleshooting a Black Camera:

Did this start after a recent update? If so, see the last item (D.)

A. Disable then Enable Cameara:

  1. Go to: Settings
  2. Tap: Screen Time
  3. Tap: Content & Privacy Restrictions
  4. Enter: Keycode
  5. Tap: Allowed Apps
  6. Tap: Camera (So it is Green-Colored)

B. Restart iPhone:

Go Here: Restart your iPhone - Apple Support

C. Are you Using a Case?

Make sure that the back camera is not covered(somewhat) - For note: the microphone part is located between the lens and the flash. So, make sure all is not covered.

as a last resort...

D. Restore form a Backup:

Have a backup of your iPhone prior to this occurrence? If you are not concerned with losing data, then restore your iPhone from a backup that was made when Wi-Fi was working. Prior to restoring, backup your iPhone, incase anything goes wrong with the restoration. If not backup, then know to always have one created prior to installing an update, to avoid things like this in the future. So, create a backup, prior to this restoration.

Thank you for the update.

A. Ever Replaced the Camera?:

Did you have this camera replaced, in the past? If so, take it back to the person(s) who installed the new camera, and have them replace it with a genuine camera that is fully functional. They should have known better.

B. How New is this iPhone?

When was this iPhone purchased? If it was purchased from Apple, then know that you have 14 days to return it. If it has been more than 14 days, then know that this iPhone comes with a one-year, out-of-the-box, limited-warranty. So, get this serviced. If found to be a faulty device, there may be no cost on your part.
