When copying photos to my laptop I get the error message “The device is unreachable.” When I change Settings>Photos>Transfer to Mac or PC to Keep Originals it saves them as HEIM, which I am not able to view on my laptop. What do I do?

Not sure exactly what you can do directly, but if you can manage to copy over the HEIC files, there are free online HEIC to JPEG converters.
