my passcode changed on its own

Hello,

I set up a 4 digit code on my phone, previous to that I had installed a replacement screen for my XS phone, all of the sudden my 4 digit code does not work! it's a code I've used for many many years! it's a number I can't forget, something weird is happening, could I have been hacked by that replacement screen and could they somehow replace my passcode?

iPhone XS Max, iOS 15

No one can change your passcode unless they know what old passcode you were using.

You can unlock your phone through the following link:

If your iPhone or iPad has iOS 15.2 or later installed, see: How to reset your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch when you forgot your passcode - Apple Support

If that option is not available, you will need to use a computer. See: If you forgot your iPhone passcode - Apple Support
