Punctuation and symbols on the Magic Keyboard

When I try to use the punctuation in the keyboard I get something different that is actually in the keys.

For example: I try to use the interrogation point(?) and I get an underline(_)

Hi Maya_Carolina, thank you for posting in Apple Support Communities.

Can I suggest that you update to the latest iPadOS 15.3 (if you have not done this already) as updates can help resolve some problems. The following link can help you:

https://support.apple.com/en-au/HT204204

Can I also suggest that you check your keyboard language to ensure it is correct as follows:

Settings > General > Keyboard > Keyboards e.g. QUERTY etc, and also

Settings > General > Keyboard > Hardware Keyboard to ensure it is set to the correct country.

You can also check that your iPad is set to the correct language and region as follows:

Settings > General > Language & Region > iPad Language

Sometimes a 'Force Restart' can also resolve these issues as per the following link:

However, you can also contact Apple Support as follows:

Go to settings > general > keyboard > hardware keyboard and tap over at the right edge. Make sure that you have 'US" checked and NOT "automatic" or something else.

Also make sure that in settings > general > keyboard > keyboards you have only one item on the list, and that item is called "English".

The example you mention indicates you are using a Spanish keyboard mapping instead of US.
