Epson Perfection 4490 does not work with Mac OS Monterey 12.1! What to do?

Epson last updated the drivers v5.8.9 for this scanner in Jan 2021. If you installed this and it did not work in Monterey, then you are at the mercy of Epson releasing a driver update for Monterey. Something that they may not do.

VueScan Professional only supports this scanner (or the V600) when functional Epson drivers are already installed for the device.

If you have a Mac running an older version of macOS, or a WIndows doorstop, then use the scanner their where there is driver support.

its Epson not updating the software.

You can purchase the V600 scanner and its software runs on Monterey. But its more $$$$.
