Does anyone have a recommendation for editing equations in MS Word and PowerPoint? The essential death of MathType on 64 bit macOS has left 25 years of my documents essentially bricked. Does anyone have a solution to edit MathType 7.0 equations using another application? Thanks very much for your help.

Thanks for the response Rudegar. Yes, there is a new built in equation editor. Unfortunately, it's very clunky. Also, it does not solve the problem of existing MathType equations which can no longer be edited.
MathType used its own math fonts and syntax for equations, and I very much doubt there is a simple conversion tool to limit your ominous amount of work to redo those equations manually.
As an experiment, I suggest you download the new LibreOffice v7.3 Suite, open a Word document with MathType equations, and then see what LibreOffice Writer does with those equations. Does it convert them to MathML or LaTeX equations, or just do nothing?
