Notes App: Copy & Paste Inconsistent

I love using the Notes app, but copy and paste often does not work. This is a very simple basic function that just does not work consistently on a Mac, as it should.

Essentially I highlight text and copy, then paste in the app or in another and some fragment from the last thing I copied or some completely random short text or some tiny portion of what I wanted to copy over shows up when I hit paste.

I have had three macs in the last year and I have had this problem with all of them. The two I had for the last few years have had this problem for years.

I keep questioning whether I should stop using the notes app because sometimes I have to completely type something out again to get it into another application which is completely ridiculous... but I just keep using it.

For others who are experiencing this problem - here are some of my workarounds which should not be necessary:

Drag and drop often works

Sometimes, a smaller chunk of a larger paragraph will copy/paste so you can do it in chunks

Sometimes, none of this works.

It would be much easier if Apple would correct the bug once and for all. This is such a basic app. Copy/paste shouldn't be a problem. It's one of the only things you would do in this app.

If the same " Third Party Software" is installed on all machine and experiencing the same issue that could explain this behaviour.

As pervious suggested >>

Suggest downloading the Application Etrecheck directly from a well Respected ASC Contributor. And Safe to use.

The application is free or paid from added features.

Run the application with Full Disc Access ( Security & Privacy - Full Disc Access ).

It will take a Snap Shot -  both the hardware and software.

The Report will Not Reveal Any Personal Information.

Post back the Full Report - copy and paste - using the Additional Text Icon ( 3rd Icon to last )

We can have a look at the report for possible issues and may have possible suggestions to resolve the issues.

Any Third Party Applications that will interfere with the normal operation of the OS, alter, modify, remove or delete or attempt to do so is an invitation for disaster and may require a Reinstallation of the OS.

This includes AntiVirus, Disk Cleaners, Disk Optimizes, UnInstaller etc.

This will include CleanMyMac

This will include BitDefender

This will included Norton Antivirus

Sophos Av Software

Intego AntiVirus

The The Built in Security  is all that is required.

Yes, am aware the Native Notes Application is being used and having issue with the Copy & Paste.

But, it only takes one Application of the Third Party vanity installed on this and other Apple Computers mentioned to Muck Up the functionality to either Notes and / or the whole OS.

Prime example is This will include CleanMyMac

On my 3 Apple Computer, 1High Sierra macOS 10.13 and 2 Monterey 12.2 and like the previous posting - Zero issues Copy & paste in Notes.

I use notes throughout the day every day. It doesn’t happen every single day I have used notes, but it does happen regularly and on multiple different computers.

I can take my computers in to an Apple store but I do believe there is a bigger problem at the source of this. Why else would the problem continue on older and a brand new computers?
