Battery

I bought a new iPhone 12 from AT&T in December 2021 and it’s saying the battery is not recognized.

Are you sure it was purchased as a factory new device, or could it have been a refurbished device? AT&T has been known to sell refurbished devices with work from their own vendors, including non-OEM batteries. That could result in a message like what you're seeing.

It says new. I contacted Apple directly and set up an appointment and they said it’s still under factory warranty so it will be fixed. I hope it’s that easy

OK. I was just bringing up one of the possibilities. Apple's newer devices have some sort of mechanism that gives that little nagging message if there are aftermarket parts, or even if it's disassembled and replaced even with OEM salvaged parts from another iPhone. I've heard a few people complain that their iPhones are completely original and haven't been disassembled before, and they're still getting these messages, so it can happen. It just needs to go on Apple's special equipment to clear the message.
