Wi-Fi Network Selection

Is there a way to manually prioritize Wi-Fi Network selection?

My issue is when visiting my sister-in-law our iPhones keep jumping over to the more powerful neighbor’s network router with a common brand routers default network name (SSID).

Her neighbor router’s network name is common and the same as one I use for work. So I don’t want to be deleting and reinstalling every time after visiting my sister-in-law.

Hopefully there is a way to lock or prioritize Wi-Fi Network selection.

There is no prioritizing available.

Even if two networks use the same SSID you can forget one network over the other. How to forget a Wi-Fi network on your iPhone, iPad, iPod ...

If your device doesn't automatically join a Wi-Fi network, follow these steps:

  1. Tap Settings > Wi-Fi.
  2. Tap  next to the network name.
  3. Make sure that Auto-Join is on.

If you don't want to connect automatically, turn off Auto-Join. To see the Welcome screen the next time that you connect to the network, turn off Auto-Login.
