I have a non-functioning MacBook Pro 2016 screen. I’m trying to use a second monitor to view it but cannot figure out how to change the display settings in setting preferences without being able to the main screen. Can anyone help?

If you have an external keyboard and mouse (wired), and are connected to AC power, with the lid closed the external display will be the primary display by default.
