when I go to apps sometimes more than less I touch the screen and it goes back to main watch screen have done a reset turned watch off and on and it’s software is up to date it constantly does this and can get frustrating

I just bought my Apple Watch series 7 two days ago and I’m having the exact same problem, it happens quite frequently. I’ll open the watch then open an app and then it sends me right back to the complication screen.
I tried that seemed to help for a day then started to do the same thing again thanks for the reply
Try unpairing and repairing and setup as new,not from a backup.
