Autofill text in Numbers

Can anyone tell me how I can get numbers to automatically fill in a frequently used word or date when I begin to type it

MacBook Air 13″, macOS 10.15

The setting is in Number preferences. "Show suggestions when editing table cells". It will provide suggestions based on data in other cells in the column. It works on each column separately. I don't use the feature. I think it only works with text; it will not suggest dates unless they are in text-formatted cells.
