I just purchased a song on iTunes. How do I transfer it to my iPhone 8 as a ringtone for someone? It's not allowing me to do that.

See this, Use tones and ringtones with your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support You would need to purchase a Ringtone, not a song.
