Notes keeps crashing, doesn't synch with iCloud

MacBook Air Sierra 10.12.6

Had this issue for a while now.

I've tried unsynching and resynching to icloud. It doesn't change anything. Tried deleting the com.apple.notes folder and then resynching, didn't help.

My notes are all there if I log into iCloud and they are there on my phone too.
