Best Adapter for Monitor to USBC

My older Mac Monitor needs a MiniDisplay Port adapter to USBC. I won't get video and audio otherwise. Maybe there is a better cable to come out of the monitor than the 3 pronged adapter version I have.

A normal thunderbolt to USB C won't work. This solution won't work https://www.apple.com/shop/product/MMEL2AM/A/thunderbolt-3-usb-c-to-thunderbolt-2-adapter?fnode=72e9450f5f1fbabd13452132a17760e0e0dd8466d91fe2a0dd1dcb2642a86d613a3e2a330d1a789bebe0a1b0f773215c97a071f8268493abb9a049ca751ab21d5120f6ca3adacbc3d2f93fb36d5be9e7e242c21e334b12f8f692ebe3ca0868bdef6c7bc181974ad1a7cd5871945064bd&fs=f%3Dadapter%26fh%3D4595%252B45b0

lack of the Thunderbolt symbol on the display input, along with three leads rather than two, tells you this is a

Apple Cinema Display LED with a Mini DisplayPort input:

It includes three USB 2.0 ports and a convenient single cable with three connectors (Mini DisplayPort, MagSafe, and USB 2.0)

good display adapter would be this one from Monoprice, or similar from other vendors:

Monoprice Select Series USB-C to Mini DisplayPort Adapter - Product # 24273 - $23.39

Apple decided not to offer such an adapter because "they have nothing special to add".
