What is the operating system for 13 Mac Pro M1 . Is it Big Sur or Monterey. If it is Monterey then is it possible to downgrade from Monterey to Big Sur and how we do it

If Your Mac shipped with Monterey then no you can not downgrade the macOS.

The original 13-in M1 was issued with 11.01 20B29 Big Sur.

However, using an older MacOS with a new MacBook with new processor would likely be a mistake. Apple does not tend to reach back to fix problems in older MacOS, unless security is involved. The best fixes to ongoing issue are provided in newest versions of MacOS.


The first question they will ask you if you present your Mac with a problem is, "Have you updated to the latest macOS ... so that we do not have to troubleshoot and 're-invent the wheel' over issues already found and resolved?"
