cannot upload music files into itunes library

Hello, I have issues uploading the music files into iTunes library. There is nothing wrong with the file format. However, when I drag the file into the library, the music file does not appear anywhere in the library. I tried adding songs into automatically add to iTunes and a not added file appears. Why is this the case? Is there a solution to this. Please help. Thanks.
