retreiving photos on ipad

Hello,

I recently had to do a factory reset for my Dad on his I pad. His photos are gone. We signed into his icloud account and they are not there either. I can't be sure if he had the settings set to save to cloud or not. Any ideas?

A factory reset should not affect iCloud photos, so it's likely iCloud photos was not enabled.

If the device was backed up, photos would be part of the backup (again, assuming iCloud photos was not enabled)

You could try restoring from a backup

If there was no backup, those items are lost.
