Screen goes half black when opened, but goes away after a few minutes

My MacBook Pros screen is only half black when I start it up, but will go away after 10 minutes or so. I can still do things, like it’s not frozen at all. What could be the issue?

MacBook Pro won’t start The screen on my MacBook Pro has been going black recently. If I close it for a while - it usually comes back to life, but if not a reboot does the job - until today. I shut down and now it won’t start up at all. I’ve gone through a few procedure ‘shift, control,alt’ etc but no joy. Any ideas?

Hi, I have had this problem for a very long while: whenever I leave my MacBook's screen off (i.e. turned it off, left it to sleep, inactivity for 20 minutes with the screen off), the next time I turn it on, the screen becomes completely dark but the laptop is on (can see such when connected to an external monitor). If I leave the screen on for like 10 minutes, the screen will start getting back to normal - from top to bottom horizontally. (sometimes I had to use my hands to squeeze the screen to help it recover faster) There is definitely something wrong with the screen I am sure - but just very confusing why it could return to fully working after a while of staying on? anyone knows why?

It's worth checking your MacBook Pro with Apple Diagnostics if it reports display related error.
