where is the "to" column in Mail?

The "from" column is visible, but how do I turn on the "to" column in Mail mac 11.3 (Big Sur)?

iMac 27″, macOS 11.3

mail -high sierra does not show 3 columns Hello dont know what i did but suddenly my mailprogram is only showing 2 columns, baisically I am missing the 3rd colum where i can read the eamail. at the moment i have to double click in one of the emails on the list in the 2nd column so a new window opens and than i can read the email but i would like to go back to the 3 column layout. No column names in Apple Mail... I'm using Apple Mail 13.4 on macOS Catalina 10.15.7, with "Use Column Layout" enabled (i.e. three panes, with the preview in the bottom right). The columns in the email list pane (top right) for some reason do not have names (like "Subject", "To", "From", "Received", etc). I used to have these column names in macOS High Sierra. I've searched in the usual places ("Preferences > Viewing", and "View") but I don't see the setting for having column names. Does anyone know where that setting is?

Right-click the column headers and choose the To field. Once displayed, you can drag the To column header to the position you prefer.

Aaaaah... I knew this could not be complicated, despite the bozos at Apple support, who were completely unable to understand the problem. Thank you, thank you.
