I purchased a phone today but I was wondering if I could change the colour of the phone even though I opened the packaging.

If you bought the phone from Apple you can return it within 14 days for a refund, then buy the phone you want. Assuming you saved the packaging and all the accessories. If you bought it after November 1 the return policy is extended until January 8.
