Contacts will not sync
The contacts on my Iphone 12 will not sync with my icloud. I have verified that the contact sync option is turned on on my phone in icloud and also on my Mac.

Try Settings/Your Name/iCloud and slide off Contacts syncing. Wait a few minutes and then slide syncing on. Allow time for syncing to occur.
Last resort - have you tried signing out of iCloud, restarting the device, and then signing back in?
