link from apple support for old Mac OS not working
Links on Apple support page for downloading old Mac OS will not connect to App Store to initiate a download process. Tried for days to get Catalina, but it won't proceed.

Thanks dialabrain. I should have thought of it. I thought there was a nifty way to get the link just like you can for an iOS/iPadOS app when you share it: the recipient (usually myself) sees the link to the App Store.
Indeed, the links no longer work since macOS Monterey was released just under 2 months ago. I told Apple about it but it will take time before they fix the problem. In the meantime, please contact Apple Support to find out if they have a solution: https://getsupport.apple.com/.
For Catalina, paste this into Safari's address field…
