I have recently copied 7TB of data onto a new external drive. The drive is full of data, but the folders appear empty. I am hoping someone can help me solve this mystery.
This drive is meant as a copy/backup and I do have all of the files elsewhere.
Computer is late 2012 imac using Mojave.

Well, I couldn't erase the drive so I unplugged it and plugged it back it. And ta-da! Everything was there! Sometimes the simplest solution is the right one!

Here is some more info that might be helpful.
Seeing your comment, I thought to try cloning the source rather than drag/drop and got this message. Shall I erase the WD drive and use Carbon Copy Cloner (or some alternative)?
Could be spotlight or fsck keeping the drive from dismounting... how did you copy them?
I simply dragged from source (a different external drive) to the new one.
I'd erase the drive & try CCC, good idea my friend!
