Mac OS catalina not available for download

i am struggling to find Mac OS Catalina to upgrade my mac - mid 2012 model from the present OS El Capitan. the suggestions/link provided in the forum for downloading it are not working.

Welcome to Apple Support Communities.

Unfortunately, there is a current server issue on Apple's side for the How to get old versions of macOS - Apple Support downloads.

I would try again later.
