I want to use an external moniter, keyboard, and trackpad

How may I use an external monitor, keyboard, and trackpad; Then place my MacBook Air M1 closed and in a dock (maybe)? This is specifically for the purpose of having a larger viewing monitor without purchasing an iMac.

MacBook Air 13″, macOS 12.0

It’s pretty easy to search. What year MacBook Air do you have? How much money do you want to spend? Do you want or can your MacBook Air connect to vga monitor, hdmi monitor or a usb-c monitor (most expensive & can charge your MacBook at the same time with a specific cord)? Purchase adapter/hub/dock for your version. You can opt for a completely wireless mouse & keyboard that direct connects so it will not take take up ports. With my MacBook Air (should be arriving at any moment) I will be doing a hdmi with my older monitor for now with an hdmi port connector. Along with direct connect wireless mouse and keyboard. I choose a Logitech basic mouse and spent my coin on the Logitech Mx keys wireless keyboard. Later on I will invest in the special usb-c cord and get a usb-c monitor that charges the MacBook Air at the same time. Maybe update my mouse later on but I’m not too worried about that. Hope this helps you start to brain storm ideas.

My apologies “hooked on phonics” failed me as I didn’t see that you mentioned your specific device. The MacBook Air M1, which is what I will be receiving shortly, you can do exactly what I will be doing. Or, spend the most amount of money with a direct usb-c monitor which charges your MacBook Air at the same time.
