Hi! My friend gave me his old iPad mini he got about 6 years ago. I’ve followed all the steps to factory reset it through iTunes, be he has no clue what his iCloud log in is or his old phone number. Is there any other way to finish out the reset without those things?

If the apple ID and password are unknown, can a device be reset? We have an Ipad Mini no one can remember whose it was, and we would like to set it for our grandchild. Is there any way? Best Buy told me to contact you folks.
