iTunes for Mac OS monterey

Apple split iTunes up in Catalina. Choose Applications from the Finder's Go menu and use the new applications instead.

I have thousands of recordings on external hard drives. Music on Monterey is awful in so many of the things I can do easily on iTunes, which is a shame considering the 2021 16 inch MBP's awesome speakers. I end up using my older MBP running Mojave to listen to and organize my recordings instead. Hope its one remaining finicky port doesn't completely die before Apple improves Music or brings back a Monterey-compatible version of iTunes.

In the meantime, does anyone have any recs for apps that are more friendly to playlist creation/organization than Apple's Music app is?

Music should be able to read your iTunes library. See Use multiple libraries in Music on Mac - Apple Support. What happens when you try?
