Multi-tasking toggle

I can’t find the multi-tasking toggle to get rid of the slide over screen. It seems to have disappeared since updating. Any idea what I can do?

iPad mini, iOS 12

The advice was valid on iPadOS 14 but no longer.

That switch does not exist in iPadOS 15. We cannot disable multitasking any longer.

You don't say which upgrade you installed, but it soundalike you installed iPadOS 15. Multitasking on 15 is always enabled.

Yes it was. I would like to disable it but all the advice says disable the multitasking toggle which I can’t find. It’s not in general or Home Screen and dock. How else can I disable it?
