Need the installer for Big Sur
The knowledge base link for downloading Big Sur does not work. (In contrast, the Mojave download link does work.) The problem seems to be in the App Store.
iMac 27″, macOS 10.14

In that case download this pkg and run it. It will create the "Install macOS Big Sur" installer in your Applications folder.

Yes, that may be the correct link. But when my request is transferred to the App Store, I get an error message that says "Update not found. The requested version of macOS is not available. This is IN CONTRAST to what happens when I request a download of the Mojave installer.
If you have followed the Big Sur link in the article that got you here, then that’s the available download link.
Try again later, or contact Apple Support directly.
If you’re not using Safari for the download, switch to that.
If using a VPN, disable that and try again.
if using Safari to access the App Store, and not using a VPN, then contact Apple Support.
Thanks, MrHoffman. I'm planning to contact support tomorrow. I've tried both Safari and Brave (no VPN), and they both lead me to the App Store. The problem seems to be at the App Store.
FWIW, to install Big Sur you need a Late 2014 or later iMac. Is that what you have?
Yep, 2019 iMac. Thanks.
Thanks so much, dialabrain!
