Finder/Spotlight finds nothing in home folder

Hi all

I’m having an issue with the Finder search feature on my new MacBook Pro (running Monterey). If I search for files on “This Mac” it finds everything (including results in my home folder) and works just like it should. However if I try to search just my home/user folder I always get empty results. I have re-indexed Spotlight but that didn’t help.

Any ideas?

In Finder preferences > Advanced panel, set When performing a search: [ Search the Current Folder ↕︎ ]. Then be in your Home folder when you initiate the search and you will have your short user name in double-quotes adjacent to the "This Mac". How you are searching also has a bearing on your results. See Apple's Narrow your search results on Mac.
