USB C & Monitor KVM (Macbook pro 2021)
Hello,
The new 2021 MacBook pro has arrived however neither myself or apple support and resolve a problem it has with my monitor (AOC ultra wide 49" AG493UCX) and it's KVM.
The monitor has a few USB devices in (Keyboard/mouse etc) and the KVM will share the devices with whatever laptop is plugged in. With my old MacBook (2013) I used HDMI with a USB connection and this works fine, with a windows laptop just a USB C cable will do.
The monitor supports both the KVM USB devices and screen just over USB C (Like works with windows laptop) however not with the new MacBook pro.
First you have to reboot the MacBook pro for the screen to be picked up at all. On boot the screen works as expected however non of the USB devices are detected. If you then unplug the USB C cable and replug it back in the USB devices in the screen work but the screen isn't connected. I can only get either the USB devices in the KVM or the screen to work at one time.
Apple spent nearly an hour and half and couldn't get it working. Seems to be some sort of limitation on the new macs that only allow USB or external screen at one time ? That or there is some buggy issue stopping the USB devices to be picked up after the screen is at boot.
Any ideas would be appreciated!
Kind Regards
MacBook Pro (2020 and later)
