Yes, you can erase all content and settings, which restores your Mac back to factory settings. Back up your data with Time Machine, then select one of the options below:

If your MacBook Air is running macOS Monterey or later, and it is made in 2018 or later: Erase all content and settings on Mac - Apple Support (CA)

Otherwise, use these steps for an Intel processor or these steps for M1 and future Apple silicon chips.
