My I phone won’t change to landscape mode even tho my orientation is unlocked. Any suggestions?

I don’t know about the original poster but on my iPhone 13 Pro Max if I rotate the phone the Home Screen doesn’t rotate into landscape mode. I don’t know why as on the phone it just replaced (iPhone 6s Plus) it does. They are both running the latest iOS (15). So it makes no sense.

I’m going to continue to search for a solution maybe call support.

edit: apparently after some research it appears that landscape mode for the Home Screen isn’t a feature in the newer phones (which is disappointing if you’re reading this Apple). Only on the plus models from previous years like my iPhone 6s Plus does it work. But on the newer phones like my 13 it doesn’t.

apps that support landscape (like Safari or Waze for example) do still flip into landscape but only the apps themselves. Not the Home Screen. From what I’ve found at least. I’d love to be shown wrong though. I liked having landscape mode for the Home Screen itself.

I am surprised and disappointed that the new iPhone 13 mini does not perform this simple operation of viewing the home screen in landscape mode. I traded up from an iPhone 6s where I used this orientation quite a bit. I understand it would make the notch move to the side instead of being on top but that is fine. Apple really needs to fix this. I had the same experience where it was fine running iOs15 on my 6s so the operating system does not appear to be the problem.

The newer iPhones with the Face ID will not rotate the home screens from portrait to landscape mode. Apps that are programmed to change will still change, but the home screen will not rotate like they did with the original Plus phones. Unfortunately, you will not see the home screen go to landscape.

Which iPhone Model and App?:

Certain you have an iPhone 12? I ask because Landscape may not work on an iPhone 11. Some apps do not permit use of landscape mode, either. So, which apps are you using?

Not all screens on the iPhone will rotate from portrait to landscape. What is it that you are trying to see in landscape mode?
