How to turn off activation lock on a Mac mini m1 I want to sell?

I am trying to sell my mac mini m1 2020, but the buyer states that I need to turn off the activation lock and I did, but they keep stating it has not been done.

I did it and it is not on my iCloud list, and the Mac mini continues showing up the same message Activation lock where I have to enter Apple email and password.
