Hi,
So, what I would suggest is the following:
- Open up a new Finder window and two tabs therein
- One tab (say the lefthand most of the two) be in your Document - Jacques folder local to your Macintosh HD (from your Finder window, right-click on the entry and select Open in new Tab) and the other (righthand most) be in your iCloud Documents - Jacques folder (from your Finder window, right-click on the entry and select Open in new Tab).
- Assuming you want as noted to just use the iCloud one, move the files from the lefthand tab to the righthand and once confirmed there (they will still reside both in iCloud and locally on your Mac, within the iCloud directory) you can prepare to delete the incorrect Documents - Jacques folder.
- To delete the Macintosh HD based Documents - Jacques folder, close all your Finder windows and open up a fresh one. Now, from the Sidebar, right-click on the that one and select Show in Enclosing Folder. Once you see it, move it to the Trash and back in the Sidebar, right-click again on it and select Remove from Sidebar.
- Now, you can either empty the Trash now or reboot and do it. I would suggest the latter, so you can be sure the Finder and Mac are in a fresh state and ready now for you to use.
- If you use the Documents - Jacques a lot (and/or plan to from iCloud), you can drag it to the SideBar as a Favourite.
Now, if you also have backup clones of your Mac, be sure to hold onto them for a while, incase you need to recover the original Documents - Jacques folder contents; but if after a week or so, you're feeling confident, run a backup and you should be all good.
Please note, iCloud is a synching service and not online storage, so you will need enough space on each device that will use access iCloud, to synch the Documents - Jacques folder too.
Good luck and post back if you've further questions.
Cheers,
Anthony
