Does AppleCare support a cracked screen

I have protection until the 28th of December of this year. Will it cover a cracked screen on my iPad?

The standard AppleCare limited warranty does not cover screen damage.

The optional AppleCare+ insurance plan, does cover damage to both iPad and its screen.
