I can not access my computer as my keyboard doesn’t work and I can not enter a password

I can not connect to my iMac as my keyboard is not working so I can not enter a password, any suggestions?

iMac 21.5″, macOS 11.6

Dig out, barrow, buy a USB keyboard that you can plug in and use. Most any USB keyboard will work and it's a good idea to have one to use in a pinch like this.

FWIW I keep an extra Logitech MK120 combo for testing, troubleshooting and even everyday use.
