My question is about connecting a G Tech desktop storage to my MacBook Pro.

My Pro is a 2013 model with USB3 and Thunderbolt 2 ports. The G Tech external drive has USB3-c connectivity. Any ideas on what cables to use to connect the two? Does the age of my Pro slow down transfer? Any advice appreciated!

Hi,

USB is down compatible, so it's OK to connect USB2 to USB3 which should works.

Cable is the same as USB3 to USB3 one.
